EOS CCA Supports the Texas BUC$ Annual Conference and Fight against Breast Cancer

EOS CCA played an active role this year in the Texas BUC$’ (Bursars for Universities and Colleges) 2011 annual conference, “Cowboys and BUC$,” held in Dallas, Texas from October 9-12. Three (3) EOS CCA representatives attended the conference, for which EOS CCA was a Platinum Sponsor.

Bob Sedia, Director, EOS CCA Business Development, reprised his popular presentation about leadership, “Taking the First Arrow: Techniques in Becoming an Effective Leader.” Bob shared a wide range of ideas on managing staff through effective leadership.

Both Bob and Ray Perez, Director, EOS CCA Business Development, were invited to and participated in a BUC$ collections panel that included several representatives from both collection agencies and University Collections groups. During this break-out session, the expert panel addressed such collection topics as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau; the important provisions of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA); the Red Flag Rules; Bankruptcy; legal assessment of collection costs; and communication with collection agencies.

Felicia Shade, Director, EOS CCA Business Development, worked with Texas BUC$ members on the “5K Texas BUC$ for the Cure Walk/Race”, the entire proceeds of which went to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world. EOS CCA sponsored the “Walk for the Cure” bracelets and participated in this worthy event, which raised some $2,000 for the foundation.
